POLIMILL Laboratory
PoliMill is a part of the Manufacturing Lab of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano devoted to launch a new collaboration model among companies and Politecnico di Milano in the field of advanced manufacturing.
PoliMill has the main purpose to organize thematic workshops providing state-of-the-art skills, equipment and methods for solving advanced manufacturing tasks where multidisciplinarity is the key to success.
PoliMill thematic workshops always implement the complete Process Chain, including:
- Component co-design
- Manufacturing cycle design, implementation and optimization
- Measurements and verification
Process Chains are demonstrated through live manufacturing demos and available solutions are offered to companies ready for the implementation in the industrial environment.
To achieve its goal, PoliMill counts on the competence of the Department of Mechanical Engineering network and its Partners.
One of the major advantages of the collaboration with PoliMill is being part of this manufacturing network. The Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano participates to national and international projects and offers lectures to a wide population of technical students.
The industrial world interacts with PoliMill in different ways.
PoliMill considers the companies supporting the laboratory activities with "long-term" cooperation agreements, as free loans for specific pieces of equipment (machines, instruments, tool holders, fixtures, presetting systems, sensors, etc.), know-how, tools, software (CAD, CAM, chip removal simulation software, etc.), target materials, lubricants and cutting fluids, consumables etc. as Main Partners.
PoliMill considers the companies participating in a single thematic workshop as Associate Partners.
